T’was the week before Christmas at Company Cards!

T’was the week before Christmas, and at Company Cards
Not one worker was slacking, they were still working hard

Their jobs where stacked neatly, by dispatch with care.
In the hope that the courier soon would be there.

Soon they’d be nestled all snug in their beds.
While vision of ‘Christmas Lunch’ danced round in their heads.

With Tim in his white suit, and Chris finishing work.
Only 5 days till finish, they said with a smirk.

When out on the forecourts arose such a clatter,
we sprang from our desks, to see what was the matter.

Away to the entrance we gathered in groups,
watching with anticipation, like an army of troops.

When what to our wondrous eyes did appear,
Tim’s truck carrying an inflatable reindeer.

A delivery driver dressed in his gear,
had helped with delivering some festive cheer.

More rapid than eagles, workers came to assist,
helping unload the truck with items off our list.

Now Stephen, now Janice, now Julie and Keith
fetch everything now, including the wreath.

To the top of the Porch! To the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash Away! Dash Away All!

As well as the last minute work we must do,
Company Cards don’t forget about others too.

For some are less fortunate and at this time of year,
why not offer help to bring them some cheer?

Soon it would be Christmas, and children should wake,
to donated gifts and Christmas cake.

As well as our well wishes to you this Christmas time,
when you gather with family to share a bottle of wine.

We urge you to consider those less fortunate than yourselves,
and add to the collection, delivered by generous Elves.

We’re supporting Young Peoples’ toy appeal,
because we believe giving a bit extra, is certainly a big deal.

In the meantime however, there was such a fuss
at the Christmas do, when loading the bus.

It seems some were perhaps a little too merry,
as they may have already been on the sherry.

Who could blame us, it’s been a long year,
but don’t think for a minute we left the inflatable reindeer!

We brought him along and sat him head of the table,
other dinners mistook the restaurant for some kind for stable.

Food, there was plenty and people where jolly,
it didn’t stop us going out after, under a brolly.

Soaked from the rain of instead of the snow,
though is still wasn’t time for any of us to go.

The night was still young and the next door not far,
we had one last job, get Tim to the bar!

Where he generously opened another drinks tab,
by golly by January he will wish he never had!

As each bleary eyed colleague left, clear out of sight
Tim sighed, “Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
