We use three 6 colour digital printing presses however, the main print engine behind Company Cards is the Indigo 5500 Digital Press. This gives us the facility to offer high quality colour cards in both high and low volumes with full personalisation, whether that is numbering, text or images. Not only are we able to print on to white substrates we can also print onto selected printed metallic substrates.
The printing process is very similar to traditional Lithographic processes in it's results, it does, however, not use any films or plates to create the printed image, this, therefore reduces initial setup costs and production times.
The process is as follows:
- Graphics are produced on PC or Mac. Design is approved as printed proof or finished card.
- Cards are printed (ID cards personalised here)
- Sheets are laminated to give pressed polished finish (Magnetic Stripes are added at this point)
- Cards are then punched out from sheet individually.
- Signature panels then applied.
- Any personalisation data is recorded on database
- Personalisation can then occur (emboss/thermal/encode)
- Any cards for bureauing are stored.
- Cards can be produced on white, silver or gold substrates.
